Pneumatic hoists
Pneumatic cable winches are devices used to handle, pull or move loads using a cable and a pneumatic energy source (compressed air). Here are their main characteristics:
Functioning :
- Wire-rope : Unlike a conventional winch where the cable is wound onto a drum, the cable passes through the winch mechanism. This allows for virtually unlimited cable length, as the cable is not stored on the equipment;
- Pneumatic : The winch motor is powered by compressed air, often used in environments where electric or hydraulic power sources are not practical or safe.
Applications:
- Used in industrial or marine environments;
- Ideal for work in hazardous (explosive) areas where compressed air is safer than electricity;
- Frequently used for pulling cables, handling pipes or lifting loads.
