Wire-rope winches for material lifting
Cable winches: temporary and permanent lifting of materials and loads in complete safety
In the world of lifting, flexibility, safety, and load capacity are essential criteria for choosing the right equipment. Cable winches, available in electric, manual, or pneumatic versions, meet a wide range of needs: from light lifting (100 kg) to heavier industrial loads of up to 3 tons. Suitable for both temporary and permanent applications, these winches have become a standard for professionals in industry, construction, and maintenance.
What is a cable winch?
A cable winch (or cable winch) operates without a storage drum. The cable is stretched vertically or horizontally, enters the winch shell and exits on the other side. This technology allows:
Work at unlimited heights or lengths
Reduce equipment clutter
Provide rapid and flexible field deployment
This type of winch is therefore perfectly suited to situations where lifting distances are significant, variable, or not compatible with winding on a drum.
Three types of motorization depending on use
🟦 Electric winch
- Powerful and automated, it allows rapid and regular lifting
- Compatible with a wide range of load capacities (from 100 kg to 3,000 kg depending on the model)
- Incorporates advanced safety devices: automatic brake, load limiter, limit switch
- Ideal for repetitive or permanent applications (industry, logistics, maintenance)
🟩 Manual winch
- Works without power supply, by lever or crank
- Lightweight, perfect for one-off interventions or in environments without energy
- Capacity generally limited to 100 kg to 500 kg
- Major advantage: mobility and mechanical simplicity
🟥 Pneumatic winch
- Powered by compressed air (often 6 bars)
- Suitable for sensitive environments: ATEX zones, humid environments, chemical industries
- Very robust and wear-resistant
- Allows lifting of loads up to 400kg in extreme conditions
Application examples
- Construction sites: lifting equipment or tools to different heights
- Manufacturing industry: handling between levels or technical access
- Wind and energy: lifting spare parts or tools in nacelles
- Vertical maintenance: work on pylons, chimneys, silos
- Isolated sites: where access to electricity is limited (manual or pneumatic version)
Key Benefits of Cable-Thru Winches
✔ Unlimited travel: no cable winding to manage
✔ Reduced weight and size compared to traditional winches
✔ Installation versatility: can be used in vertical, inclined or horizontal positions
✔ Simplified maintenance: less mechanical wear, few complex parts
✔ Safe to use, especially in the certified version with brake, limiter and anti-reverse device
