Tilt and slack rope detection
The “tilt and slack cable” trigger mode of SECURISTOP safety blocks or fall arrest devices is based on two main parameters to detect dangerous situations:
Tilting:
The system monitors the angle of the platform relative to its normal horizontal position.
If the tilt exceeds a predefined threshold value (usually between 3° and 8°), this signals a potential imbalance or failure (e.g. an uneven load or a faulty cable).
In response, the safety system intervenes immediately, blocking the descent mechanisms or stopping the operation to prevent a fall.
Cable Slack:
This parameter detects an abnormal decrease in tension in the suspension cable.
A slack or “slack” in the cable may indicate a partial or complete break, or an obstruction that prevents normal tension.
When such a release is detected, the system activates a blocking device to immobilize the platform and prevent a sudden fall.
